Introduction to Métis Beadwork

Sunday, August 19
Sunday, September 2
1:00 - 4:00 pm
$10

Learn the history in an exclusive tour with our Curator.

Learn the technique with a hands-on project.

The Red River area is often considered the birthplace of floral beadwork, and these beautiful objects represent a unique local artistic tradition. The Inkster-Sinclair family were both prominent makers, and collectors throughout the 19th Century.

Participants will be introduced to the history of Métis style beadwork in an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of our collection. We will then learn the fundamentals to make our own floral pouches and pin-cushions.

All supplies are included.
