This artist’s style is extremely unique, with bold and bright floral designs. She embroidered with a satin stitch in a loose ‘puffy’ style that our researchers have never seen before. It almost looks like she un-twisted the ply of the thread as she sewed. It’s hard to imagine the skill that technique would require.
Beaded Gauntlets

The beadwork on these unusual gauntlets shows the crown of Great Britain. They also use a very unusual pieced construction on the hands, and show evidence that they were heavily worn.

​They were presumably made to mark the coronation of King George V (1910), King Edward VIII (1936), or King George VI (1936).
